Responding to a distress call from the Valiant-Class USS Merrimac, the Endeavour enters a proto planetary disc where intermittent sensor readings show the small ship to be.
After a somewhat bumpy ten minutes, the drifting Merrimac appears on the screen, it's engines cold and dark. When Lt. Grange reports a build up of gravimetric waves, Capt. Munro orders the Merrimac to be tractored and pushed ahead of the Endeavour. This way the bigger ship can shield it's smaller sister from the worst of the incoming waves.
Its shield bubble increased to it's maximum width, the Endeavour latches onto the Merrimac, and nudges her forwards, the waves of gravity deflected away from the powerless ship by the Endeavour's straining shields.
Twenty minutes later, the journey slowed by power being redirected to shields and tractor beam, both ships emerge from the maelstrom intact (though a few lunches were lost on the Endeavour).

The Century class should have been used for the ENTERPRISE "E" instead of what we got with the Sovereign class. I just don't know what it is about the Sovereign class design but I just don't care for it.
